dead shrimp cause algae bloom?

so either my pistol killed my cleaner shrimp or he is stuck in my overflow. either way I can't find him. could his ....cough cough.... dead body cause a small algae bloom?

Doubtful. I put a peppermint shrimp in my tank and haven't seen him since I put him in. No effects from it. 21g tank.
