Quiet Skimmer

I'm looking for a skimmer for my 54gal corner tank.

It has to be SILENT QUIET!!

LOL, my wife's only rule is that tank has to be quiet.

I'm looking at the SCA-301, which seems to get good reviews......but is it silent?

Any other recommendations for a quiet skimmer, inexpensive, for my tank?

Thanks,

Steve

Brand new SCA-301 is $85 direct, less if you shop around.

I'm just trying to get some feedback on them, or if another is priced similar and as good and quiet.

Do a little research on old school counter current wooden air stone driven skimmers. I've been running one on my 77 gal sumpless tank for 7 years. Works fine & is only as loud as the air pump driving it. You could even diy something like it if you're so inclined.

My SWC-160 is dead quiet. Can't hear mine at all.

But for $150 or under, you gotta look in the used section. Your not going to get a good skimmer for that much unless it is used.

Good luck

Tunze 9004 is dead quiet. And you can get the reefpack 250 which comes with another type of filter for 250$. Else the 9004 is under 150$.
