Differences in coral growth and health with random flow?
I'm thinking about buying a MP10 or WP-10 but would like to know if it would really make that much of a difference in terms of coral health and growth.
I currently have a Tunze 6015 and a Maxi-Jet 1000(for the surface skimmer) in my 30g(24x24x13). Would be nice if some could post thier experiences here. |

Depends on the coral.... Fragspawn for example don't like much flow

more than likely its not going to make a noticeable difference.. if any
But you might eliminate "dead spots/low flow areas",etc in the tank... and possibly help with that..

in regards to stony polyp corals , more random flow usually encourages much better growth because more nutrients become available constantly and consistently because they are static corals. Soft corals may not need all that flow for a 30 gallon tank , so its up to you really

you dont have much flow in your tank imo.. id say everything would benefit from another powerhead, such as an mp10..

IME, for SPS...strong, random, turbulent flow is very important coral health and growth.
