Plumbing Confusion

I've never had a sump/overflow So It's still a little confusing to me how it's suppose to be set up. I picked up a 90 gallon pre drilled the other day and they disassembled it before I got there so I didn't get to see how it was set up. There's a few large vinyl hoses instead off PVC I thought there would be an inlet and a return but it looks like one inlet on each side and the return in the middle how would I hook it all up into the sump?

I would think the outside two are returns that go to your return pump in your sump.

I understand that I just don't understand how to use an overflow box the way it's setup. Does anyone else on here run a similar system with no overflow boxes

I actually think the two in the corners are the drains and the one in the middle was the return. Either way I would add overflow box(es) to keep fish, snails from going down the drain line to the sump.

That's what I thought would I just take an overflow box and cut the back off and silicone over the bulkhead?? I would love to see an example if anyone can find one

Look into a coast to coast overflow, it is just two pieces of glass the length of the tank, very easy to DIY and very efficient in terms of protien removal. I'll also recommend you look into a bean animal drain as it's already drilled for it. Absolutley silent and set and forget.

I don't really understand the bean animal drain and I don't think I can use the coast to coast overflow because my return is in the middle

Here you go I have one overflow like yours is. I run a backup in each one. I use a valve to keep the water level a little higher which makes it dead silent. The backup is left wide open and is alittle higher incase I close the valve to much or something else happends. People tell me I shouldnt slow the drain but it works perfect and probably have one od the quitest overflows. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/at...1&d=1391133260

I really can't see what going on there. Once I install the overflow box over the bulkhead does the bulkhead have to have PVC attached? If so what's the purpose and the correct way to do it
