Shy Kole Tang
My new kole tang has just basically hid in caves for the last two days since I got him. If I stand back or sit on the couch, ill see him come out and graze on the rocks, but as soon as anyone approaches....it's a B-line back to the black hole
Is this typical? And when can I expect him to loosen up a little? |

I think it's pretty normal. My Kole did that at first and still does sometimes. My Tricolor Wrasse also runs behind the rocks every time I walk up to the tank. Once he realizes you bring him food, he'll start to venture out I believe.

I think it is fine. Give it a month and it will be out and about. I have a McCoskers Wrasse that I put in the tank and haven't seen it since. In a week I'm sure it will be all over the tank.

Think about the upset that fish has been through. In the ocean, them a net, then some holding facility, then into a bag, on a plane, into a fish store then to your tank. I would be hiding also.
