APEX and Chiller

I am in the process of adding an inline chiller and controlling it with my APEX Lite. Does the pump need to run constantly even when the chiller doesn't. For instance I'd program the pump to come on, say, 30 seconds before the chiller and then reverse the process when the temp gets to the set point.

Is there any reason to run the pump constantly?

Nope. No reason.

I have mine setup to run the chiller pump (but not the chiller) for about 5 minutes a day. That way, the water in the lines isn't sitting there stagnant for days and days. Obviously, my chiller doesn't get used much!
