opinions on sump

I currently have a canister from my fw tank that I am using. I know its a nitrate factory so lets skip that. I am either going to get a reef octopus HOB BH1000 or try this. I like the idea of a sump because I can put other media and possibly a heater in it.

My current working area under my stand is 20Lx9Wx23H

I would like to get a sump on CL that is 20Lx8Wx16H

If I could find a small enough skimmer to fit in to this unit such as the ASM Mini-G skimmer which measures 21.2 x 9.1 x 7.2 inches

What are your opinions and what would you do?

Start over and get a new sump. They are easy to DIY this is a very specific setup and for the low cost of a new small tank I'd start over.

starting over isnt an option. I think I am going to get this sump and the tunze 9004 as it should fit perfect. This should allow for the features of a sump and skimmer with such limited space.

If you get this paticular one I would take the bio balls out. Like SGT said get a new 20 gallon. Its probably cheaper than what your paying for the wet/dry.

The issue is the limited space under my stand. The width of the opening is 8 inch. It is a hex tank so that's why I'm looking at this sump.

If you plan on using the one you posted, get the cadlights PLS-100. 4.75"(L) x 4.75"(W) x 19"(H) works great.
