40 gallon breeder stocking

I have a 40 gallon breeder setup with a 40 gallon breeder as a sump, total system water volume is 60 gallons now, but could be increased easily. I attached a picture of the tank below, its bare bottom, with lots of open swimming space, and very high flow with two wp25's. 50-85 turn overs an hour. I plan to keep primarily zoas. I was wondering if anyone has some idea's for stocking the tank.

For now, I am considering 5 blue green chromis, and possibly 1 flame angel.

Any suggestions on stocking?

Angels may eat the zoanthids. It's hit or miss. The chromosome would work but in that size they will likely turn on each other and the numbers will dwindle down to one, possibly two. With that size I would go with a blenny (I have a Midas and it is very personable and an active interesting fish after it's acclimated) fire fish, and a pair of clowns. There is probably more you can add with them but I would do your research and check with snorvich in the stocking thread. He knows his stuff.

I would check with snorvich in the sticky first. You can find some good ideas aswell. I have a 34gallon and i have a helfrichi firefish. Just ordered one midget reef chromis and mcCosker wrasse today. Finally i will do a pair of black ice clowns

With that amount of volume you can do a lot especially since a 40 breeder has a large footprint which is more important than height for most fish. In my 40 breeder I have a Blue Gudgeon Dartfish, Firefish, 2x Clownfish, Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse, Terminal Carpenter's Wrasse, Fire Shrimp, and cleaner shrimp. I keep mostly SPS with a softball-sized frogspawn and a bunch of other LPS and zoas.

I only have one WP25 running on the lowest setting but I've been toying with the idea of adding in my backup. Also about to upgrade my return to a Syncra 3.0 so that should also help.

Thanks for the help everyone. The tank is designed for very high flow since its bare bottom, and open, part of my concern with dartfish is they may be tossed around. I do like running lots of flow, it makes for a healthier system, and lifts up the detritus to my overflow. I have read chromis like heavy flow, that it sometimes seems to decrease agression.

I've got 2 MP10's alternating at 100%, considering a 3rd BTW. So at any given time I could have 3000gph flowing in my 40B.

Here is my fish list:

2 Red Firefish
2 Chalk Bass
4 McKoskers Fairy Wrasses
Bicolor Blenny
Kole Tang
Red Highfin Goby

How much deeper would the ocean be if it didn't have sponges?
