I don't know what it is but it's not going away in my buddy's tank . My friend can clean it and it's back within a day
The tank has been up for 5 yrs. This stuff started going wild when he switched to reefbreeder LEDs. ofcourse its not LEDs fault but it did restart the growth of this pest. Here is a vid Last edited by ReefPharmer; 02/24/2014 at 11:47 PM. |

I had the same show up in my 180 when I swapped to LEDs. It really did look like dinos with the bubbles trapped. Went away with a water change and a week of GFO in reactor.

IMO if it's slimy - its cyano (most likely) the new leds are full spectrum? If they are I would dial back red, green and white till you are able to get the cyano under control.
GFO and carbon work great - in my case early on I had a tds issue but with the use of RowaPhos Phosphate Remover and carbon it cleared up. It will take time some times 3+ weeks. If it persists you can always use red slime remover as a last resort
