Green Murky Water
I checked my water paramaters at a LFS and they were great except for the nitrates. The green murky water happened after I messed up the sand bed. I got a additional filter sponge like thing that the guy said would clear it up. It could be an algae bloom or organic bacteria from the sand bed being stirred up. I just need some help to get this murky/algae water clear. The algae is just in the water and not on sand bed or live rock.
Thanks for your time, Michael |

Most likely an algae bloom due to nutrients being released. It will clear in time just do a few days of water changes. You could also run some carbon it will help to clear the water. If you have a way to run mechanical filtration that will help also.

GFO will help keep the algae at bay as well.
