How many shrimps do you have?

Hey guys,

I got a 32G nano reef - I currently have one blood shrimp, beautiful colour but really doesn't come out much and stays mainly in one cave..

Was thinking of getting a peppermint or red line cleaner..

Do you guys think they'll be ok together or should I only be keeping one in this tank?

Thanks!

What are the dimensions of you tank?

I would probably stick to just one shrimp, they might fight otherwise.

Hey there,

It's a 60cm x 45 x 45

I was thinking that but don't know if I should sell the red blood or he'll eventually come out a bit more..

pep+fire shrimp maybe fine. They'll show terrtoral displays and fight but they can't injury or kill each other.

fire shrimp+scarlet cleaner in a small tank like that is asking for trouble..

I have a 125gallon housing:
Scarlet cleaner
tiger pistol
sexy
harlequin shrimp (pair)
pep shrimp
fire shrimp
camel shrimp
and that's it. No issues yet.

I have a N. wennerae in my 40 gallon fuge, an O. scyllarus in my 55 gallon, and another tiny O. scyllarus in a 10 gallon until it outgrows it. (Mantis shrimp, they're not true shrimp they're stomatopods but anyway..)

The beauty of having a large tank.. That's a really cool mix..

Thank you for that... I didn't know Scarlet's fight that way..

Do you think the red blood is worth keeping? I got him from my LFS cause she gave me $60 off his price... He looks great but just don't see him at all

I have read they're like this but have also read others say their red blood comes out fine..

Mine I rarely see on a regular basis, the scarlet cleaner occasionally travels when the atinics go on. Feeding time is when everybody comes out.

Fire shrimp are awesome, I like them as a "For looks" and "Show off" shrimp but for an "Interactive, entertaining" shrimp my vote is scarlet cleaner.

Definitely agree with your vote on the fire shrimp, they are pretty show off haha..

he doesn't come out for food tho.. he lingers where the food will fly around to him but not come up

he does love cleaning the anemone tho

As long as there's plenty of hiding spots in your tank, I think you'll be ok adding either the cleaner shrimp or the peppermint shrimp.
I don't really consider these as being a part of the CUC, so keeping them well fed will help to reduce the hostility. (if there is any)
