do you have enough live rock? What type of substrate? Also make sure all the food you feed gets eaten. Anything the fish leave behind will turn to ammonia if the cuc doesn't get to it.

bacteria needs places to grow that is why we use live rock the live refers to the bacteria that grows on and in the rock . and prime does not remove ammonia it just detoxifies it.

What kind of filtration are you using? I may be mistaken, and you would eventually have nitrate issues, but couldn't the op just use a power filter like on a fresh water tank for biological filtration. Would need a very light bioload, but something like a penguin with a biowheel. Obviously live rock and some good water movement in the tank would be preferred...

Pick up some dry rock (reefcleaners or marco both have great base rock that's clean and pest free) and seed it with a cured rock for a LFS. Having fish in those conditions is not ideal - may not kill them but it's not good for them.
