starfish compatability
My wife really wants a blue linkia starfish for our reef tank, but I was wondering if a sand sifting star would be compatible in a 90gal reef tank? I don't have either starfish yet, just checking out my intended purchase.

I'm personally against sand sifting stars as they eat up all the fauna in the sand bed. Linkia stars also have a poor track record of survivability in an aquarium.

Not sure about the blue starfish. Most star fish need 0.5 nitrates or below, and a tank that is 1 year old or more. The sand shifter would be good in a newer tank. It eats fish waste, so does not need an old tank, with small build ups of algae for food.
