Help with controller purchase.
I have pretty much decided on the apex. However, if I can get the jr and save $250 that would be great. I want to monitor temperature, this is most important. I would also like PH and maybe in the future salinity. Does the jr have this kind of capability or upgrade potential.

The Jr. is capable of adding 5 modules. Now if you have the display module that's one. now the ph that's two, now the salinity that three. so you have two left and only have 4 controllable outlets. so if we add an EB8 that's four. and you have 12 controllable outlets. You have also spent the cost of the JR plus 200 on modules and another 150 on the EB8. Say at one time you decide you want to add 0 - 10vdc controllable pumps and 0 - 10vdc controllable lighting there goes another 100 dollars. and at that point you are done. It will all depend on what you want to control or may want to control in the future.

Thanks Mark! So essentially buying the full will probably save a person money in the long run?

My needs are very small for a tank, so the Jr is more than enough. The savings are there, but not astronomical. I think you could make an Apex Jr a full Apex for about $50 more than the Jr costs.
