Placement of sump?
I have a sump that is 16" front to back and the inside of the stand is 30". There is zero room on each side to place items. Should I put the sump as far back as possible, as far forward, or split the difference? I thought back would be better so I could fill ATO and dosers easier but I still need to be able to get to the sump and (internal)skimmer. Then, of course, are all the electronics that have to go in...

I vote for back, but then again, I also have a side door and a 36" tall stand which makes it easier to get back or in there.

I would put it as far back as possible. Once it is in place you wont need to mess with is as much as you would reactors and such.

I only would have said front for top off access, so since you are planning to do an ATO I too say all the way back.
