Algae Breathing ???
Does anyone know what type of algae this is I don't see it listed anywhere looks like green hair but it produces its own bubbles would increasing the magnesium to 1500-1600 help combat this stuff I tried the lights out for 3-4 days and it did die off but came back in a week or so my sps didn't like the 3 day long night but there slowly coming back What type of snails should i get to control this stuff i thought GFO would do the job but i guess its never that simple ...snails always end up in my plumbing Age 5 Yrs 300 Gal Fish and SPS 400W CPF 12 hrs daily 450W MH 4 hrs daily GEO 300 CA Reactor Orca 250 Skimmer TLF 350 PHOS Reactor RODI TDS 000 8.1 PH 1.023 SG 470 CA 900 MG ---PHOS

You have high levels of phosphate and nitrate that are fertilizing your algae.
You need lots of consecutive large water changes to bring down nutrient levels. Once your nutrient levels are down, remove as much of the algae as possible manually. Once things are cleaned up get a bunch of Astrea (cone shaped) snails and Mexican turbo snails (bigger and rounder) to clean up the remaining algae. Hope this helps.
