Tunze Stream Rocks predicament

I am sick of looking at powerheads and for my new build I thought it would be really cool to get a couple of the tunze controllable powerheads and the rock decorations they fit in and put them on the sandbed at the front 2 corners of the tank facing towards the middle-back so they are unseen and then running the cords under the sand and the up along my black overflow where they will be unseen. I think that this will give me great flow without seeing or hearing the powerheads. The only issue is that when it comes time to clean them I will have to pull them out along with the cords in the sand and they will probably be running underneath rocks and such. Are the cables detachable or anything like that so as to make it possible to clean without dismantling the aquascape?

nice idea but the cables are unfortunately not detachable. they're sealed to the motors.

If I left enough cable by the end I guess I could pull them out and just soak and clean them right on top of the tank without messing things up. Do you think that would work? Also do you think it would blow sand around?
