blue tang bitterness

I had a blue hippo that was biting up my green folded brain. So I moved it to the other side of the tank where the clown tang has his territory. Blue cant go over by the brain now or the clown tang gets on him quik. Been a week and its finally reinflating and getting to normal.

Yeah some tangs (its pretty rare though) will pick at corals cuz they're trying to get at the coral's zoanthelle algae inside the coral's tissue

Good luck with that. I had a hippo that got traded because he would not leave the LPS alone.

My blue tang also picks on certain hard and soft corals.

I have an amazing blue that doesn't like "anything" new in the tank. He will whip his barb at it, when moving rocks he'll band on the glas with is head, and when really ticked off, he'll go crazy and just rip apart as much xenia as he can, so thx to him I have xenia fingers growing everywhere. I even try to feed him while doing something in the tank to keep him calm, but he'll figure out what's different and rip it out. So many things in the back out of reach because he took it to the back and left it there. I have to do things with lights off in the middle of the night, but he'll still bang the glass behind the rock where he posted up for the night. There are NO corals in his area of rest...he tares them all out. Good luck with yours.
