best way to clean bulbs and reflectors

This might be a stupid question - I have neglected to clean my T5 bulbs for quite some time so needless to say there is quite a bit of salt build up on them. One of my many projects this weekend is to thoroughly clean them. Is there a good method to cleaning them.

Do i simply use a damp cloth with water on the bulbs and reflectors?
