Upgrading to larger tank help pls

Hi I currently have a boyu tl550 30 gal tank and iv just set up my new tank which is a Aqua One AquaReef 275 Cube about 73 gal with a sump which I'm new to. what I need to know is that iv put new live sand in not old sand and all 15 kilo of live rock and as much water from the established boyu into the new tank with out disturbing the old live sand plus 25 litres of fresh salt mix from my local fish store so basically like a water change. iv also moved my corals over and 2 clowns plus 2 cleaner shrimps, wave makers and heaters been running for 2 days now everything seems fine....but I really want to fill this tank up so I can start using sump but I'm not sure how quick I can do this without causing any stress to my fish or corals iv estimated I'm going to need 6 more 25 litre drums of fresh salt mix or 7 to get this tank full any help or advice will be appreciated.
thank you.

Well, if it were me I would have held off moving things to the new tank( Im a new myself). I would have waited just a little while anyway to see if the NEW tank was going to go through a mini cycle(maybe not needed). That being said. you already put your coral in your NEW tank..from my under standing the fish are easy to keep for the most part..but coral is harder..so if you have you coral in there. then I guess you would add your fish... make sure your parameters are darn close from the old tank to the new. use as much old from the old. so that you have the bioload. and you may be fine

Hi thx for info Well I was going to hold off but the marine shop I got the tank from said if I fill the aquareef 275 with fresh salt then it would take months with a cycle they said what they would do is move everything over with all the boyu established water which I did but only came to a 1/3 full I was like right put 25 litres in be like a water change took it up a bit not even half way so all I'm doing is putting in 25 litres a day slow I'm just above half way but still got loads to go before it goes over to sump what's worrying me is that every 25 litre I add surely I'm diluting the established water so am I going to have a cycle I'm not sure ?? Iv been told I could put 2 or 3 25 litres in a day slow I'm just scared to do it The corals iv got are soft corals only about 6 tho but everything so far looks fine including the clown fish and cleaners..

The nitrifying bacteria live in the sand and rock so diluting your established water shouldn't be an issue. Did you move live rock from your old system? If so you should probably go ahead and add the new water. What are you using for filtration if it isn't going through the sump? If it was me I would match the parameters of the rank water and add new water.

I think you definitely went way to fast. Established water doesn't really have a lot of value in a tank move. As long as the new and old water parameters are the same, then your fine. For example, when anyone sets up a hospital or quarantine tank the water is new, not established. I think you would have been better off putting in the new sand, filling with fresh salt water. Once you have all the parameters the same, then make the slow move over with the rocks and livestock. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but at this point I would just get that tank filled quickly while making sure I'm matching all the parameter as closely as I can. You may be doing more harm to the tank by going so slowly now that the move is made. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thank you so much for the advice all my old live rock is in there yea I was gunna run the cycle before moving but lfs said that cause I had a tank already set up it would be easier to move it straight away the only thing I was worried about is the water wasn't running to sump so I suppose I better just fill it and hope for the best thanks
