getting caulerpa off a frag

I have been lucky to have gotten really clean frags up until now so I have never had to deal with this before.
I have some Euphyllia frags with caulerpa attached to their skeletons.
Can I scrape it off and it won't come back, or am I better off cutting as much of the skeleton away as I dare?

Are you talking about grape caulerpa algea? My tank had it a while back. I picked off what I could from my corals but I didnt cut anything. Got the nutrients in check and it just went away on its own.

I scraped it off with a knife and I guess I will QT the coral for awhile. I would hate to have macro in my tank (besides the chaeto invasion I already have)

Be really careful. I spent 7 years battling what started as a sprig.
