How to clean glass and not squish all the pods?
Thread title says it all. My new tank glass is covered with pods. I am delighted, but want to clean the glass with my magnet thinger at some point. Blow them off with a power head first?

I asked the same question before. It is ok to just wipe the glass with magnet cleaner. You may kill a few pods, but it wont effect most of them

If you have that many on your glass, you have way more in the rock. You will not hurt anything by cleaning the glass with a magnet cleaner.

By pods on the glass do you mean the little orange/red things? I have a ton on the glass as well, but I thought pods were the little sand flea looking ones??

They're white and look like jumpy little fleas. But from my understanding, there are many different types of copepods and amphipods (and isopods!) That can be present.

And thanks, everyone! Guess I'm just so thrilled to see them that I don't want to squish even a single one of them. Never expected to see so many this early on.

Let them run from your magnet. The ones that get killed by it were inferior anyways, and would have just bread more slow moving pods. You are doing the population a service by weeding out the weak ones.
