Need a 20" high power reflector
I've been using a Coralife 20" reflector that uses a 96 watt 50-50 quad compact lamp (Coralife part 54078) for over five years (not the same lamp just the reflector).
The lamp has been discontinued and Coralife does not produce any reflector lamp combos in 20" Question. Does any one know of a 20" reflector lamp combo that produces equivalent lighting? When tested, my combo showed 2000 LUX (40 PAR) at 15" from the lamp. |

Maybe its time to upgrade the lights. You could go with a T5 fixture that would produce more light better spectrum while using less electricity.

Do you have corals or is this just a fish only tank?

I'd look into a led fixture such as AI sol, rapid led, reefbreeders... or even go with a 150w MH. If you want t5 you would be best off getting a 24" fixture. Even a pair of par 30 or par38's would work.
A PAR of 40 is on the lower end of acceptable levels for corals. |
