Casa Rimless Elos System 100 Build

Hello and thanks for all the valuable information. I thought I would post a bit about my Elos System 100 (75 gallons) reef in the making.

Now that the tank is almost done cycling after a month or so. It contains Pukani rock which I bleached and treated with Seaklear.

I replaced the PS200 skimmer with an Reef Octopus 150 (spacesaver). An apex controller runs two energy bars (one in the stand and one in my fish room located in the basement). I am using a Stenner pump to replace about ½ gallon or so a day of saltwater and also use Spectrapure's newest ATO to pump water from the sump room up to the sump.

We hung two Radion Gen 3s about the tank for lighting and two MP40s for circulation... I also have a Reeflink connected to both.

I am using a battery backup from Ecotech to shadow the MP40s (we modified the cable for the extra long run to the basement -- works like a charm).

Now slowly adding coral ... more pictures of the inhabitants to come soon.

Thanks for looking.

More photos. We drilled a two inch hole in the floor with a circular saw in order to run the ¼ tubing down the fish room.

If you have a basement fish room, why didn't you put the sump down there instead of below the tank?

I could have but opted to use Elos' sump and ease of setup. Frankly the footprint works just fine...maybe a future mod!

Thanks for the offer but I'll use it in the fish room as I am hoping to setup a quarantine and frag tank.

Great looking tank and I like how you aqua-scaped (2 big rocks, right?). Also, this question really has nothing to do with your tank. The second photo in the initial post shows a book "Blue Note", does the book have anything to do with the old Jazz record label?

indeed... Coffee table book with Blue Note record covers...my fav era was 60s era.

3 rocks .. two large and one flatter on top (not sophisticated but it works).

Update

Coming along. Added an ALK doser to keep with needs otherwise no additions. The Stenner pump replacement system is going strong and the parameters are still good.

Sweet setup, looking good.
We need more pictures.
A stenner is something I'd like to try.

Stunning tank.

Can you post more photos please?

What is the filtration on this system?

Top view. Will post more tomorrow. Re filtration I rely on carbon and skimming in addition to SW replacement through the use of the Stenner pump.
