Aluminum grippers in reef

Anybody use those vs plastic? Quick in/out of water with aluminum grippers have adverse effect?

I have used some alum tongs to catch my coral banded shrimp with no adverse effects.

However I would use plastic If you have them.

As long as it is a quick in and out you should be perfectly fine. It's continued exposure that becomes a problem with metals.

That's what I've always said!

And yeah, i have stainless steel forceps that i just wipe off real quick after removing. You'll see a little surface rust spot here or there but no issues.
