What is my Frogspawn doing?

I have a frogspawn that seems to be doing great. Always happy and fully inflated, growing like crazy.

Lately I have noticed small pieces of frogspawn floating around my tank. Just little branches all by themselves. Three times I have seen this in the last two weeks. Is it trying to reproduce? I have never seen a frogspawn do this before.

I must admit, I have never had a really "healthy" frogspawn (or any coral) before. Now that I have found this site, I am actually starting to feel like I am doing things right after more than 15 years in this hobby. I can actually grow things, unlike before, where I just slowly killed all corals slowly over the course of a year.

That's what's happened to me when I bumped it with the siphon while doing a water change or when a fish is trying to eat it!

some peppermint shrimp attack frogspawn and tear the polyps off. Sorry to say this might be what is happening. Frogspawn doesn't just drop polyps by itself.
Keep a close eye on those shrimp!

Yea, peppermint shrimp aren't very reef safe. If it eats aiptasia, it will eat similar organisms.
