An odd thing happened...

Okay so I added a YT, PT and a Naso tang to my 125g tank. Within an hour both of my red shrimp died... I've had them for months. There's nothing wrong withy water (tested before and after adding tangs) anyone ever experiences this before they were happy enough this morning but soon as I added them I went out the room for 45-60mins and they both just... Well died. Everything else is doing fine. Was this just a coincidence or has something gone wrong (I was watching the tangs settle for 20mins and there was no sign of aggression towards each other or to any other fish)

Did you pour any of the water from the LFS bag into your tank? Are you sure those are not molts from the shrimp?

It's possible one or more of your tangs actually killed the shrimp

I doubt the tangs did it so fast. Most fish will just hide for the first few days. How old is the tank maybe a mini cycle by adding 3 tangs in one day if it's not a mature tank but I don't think that would even happen that quick either.

No I thought as much it's been cycled for three months. Not had any issues with water quality so far. And I tested it , the tangs were jumpy to start with hiding when ever you came maybe they just knocked into them? I don't know I can't find an explanation for it it was too quick

Are you aware that those three tangs will not get along well in a tank as small as yours? The Naso needs a 240 gallon minimum tank.

+1, shrimp is least of your worries, sooner or later you will have dead tangs.

Agreed. Keep an eye out for aggression. Fish in too small of a space become more aggressive. Tangs are swimmers. This is why larger tanks are recommended. Generally a tank that is 8 feet left to right are required to allow plenty of length for swimming and grazing.
