Tunze 6095 magnet question
I just received a tunze 6095 that I purchased new.
Quick question. The magnet that attaches to the pump is smaller than the outer side magnet. They are a good 2 inch difference.. Just wondering if that is right or if I received the wrong outer magnet?? |

I received my 6025 with a bigger magnet also. I think this is pretty common, no negative effects at all. I heard tunze does this to keep costs down, but not 100% sure. You should have nothing to worry about.

Thanks. I feel like it doesn't hold as tightly to the glass with the magnets being 2 different sizes. Doesn't make much sense to me either.
Also on the box the picture shows the magnets are the same size. |

Roger Vitko (Tunze USA) provided an explanation for the new style magnets in the past.
http://reefcentral.com/forums//showthread.php?t=2291857 I think you can still puchase old style magnets separately. Without a doubt they are stronger than the new magnets.
