QT questions

Hey guys I was wondering, after I treat a fish in the QT tank do I have to empty the whole QT tank and cycle it again or just do some water changes and how many do I do.

Do you leave it up all the time?

My philosophy, when in doubt , clean it out!
Seriously though, what did you treat the fish for? If it was ich, the. Yes I would def sterilize the tank and clean it out.
Helpful note when setting up a fresh qt is to keep a filter pad in you sump. I keep a large one. Then When you set up the qt, cut a piece off and place it in your filter of the qt. This will make it so you never have to cycle at qt ever. Just make sure the filter pad is in your sump for a few weeks so there is plenty of bacteria to support the fish. The size of your filter on your qt and the tank size will dictate the size of the filter pad. I continuously run a large piece and just keep cutting it away. Always discard the filter pad from the qt after you use it. Never place it in the display tank after it's been in qt.
