Bubble Blaster Skimmer Pump Problem
I have purchased the phenomenal Super Reef Octopus 3000 External from Bulk Reef Supply. It was installed shortly after I made the order on the 9th of June 2014. Today is the 30th of June 2014 and I noticed the Bubble Blaster pump stopped doing it's job. I tried to plug it into a different power source and it hasn't worked out. I let the situation cool off for a half an hour or so. When I tried anything again it seems the pump switches directions. It has" fits" as someone else put it. I took the cover off to have a look, there is no debris, I removed the impeller also, still no debris and that's as far as I can go. I continued to let it sit and several hours later the situation has not changed. The pinwheel comes off the shaft, not sure if this is ok or not. There is also a problem with the shaft, the shaft doesn't make a full rotation when it is connected to a power source, it jitters back and forth. It has its moments where it makes a rotation but for a split second before it returns to its seizures.
I have gotten in touch with Coralvue and they are sending out a new impeller. I am confused however because it doesnt seem as if thats the issue. Any help would be much appreciated. I apologize if I placed this thread in the wrong location, I'm hastily seeking help. My system is a 75G FOWLR, 60LBS Live Sand, 50lbs Live Rock, Marineland LED 36-48, 2 Hydor Koralia 1150, 100W Heating System. 3 Months Old. Livestock: Yellowtail Damsel, 2 Clownfish, Yellow Tang, Sailfin Tang. RIP to the Hermit crab, the tangs got to him due to the stress this morning. |
