ID please.
I have started to notice this type of algae on my rocks.(green in color) I have not seen it before. It is kind of fuzzy in some spots. This rock looks the worst. I was thinking about doing lights out for 3 or 4 days. But wanted to know what i was dealing with first. I have noticed the same thing on my powerheads but that is it.

any chance of getting a better picture? It kind of looks like diatoms to me, but it is very difficult to be sure from the photo you provided.

the only thing that has changed in the last few days was I pulled my power heads out to clean them...they where out for about 3 days. Just had the return for flow...not sure if that would have anything to do with this though.

Is your tank new? If so it's diatoms and a normal progression in the establishment of your tank

Uh oh...Dinos are bad. I couldn't tell from the pic but now that mbingha said it, it's pretty clear that's what it is.
Sea hares will mow this stuff down. Get on it quick before this stuff takes over your tank. There is a lot of good threads on here about it. You can also just google it too and will find a lot of helpful info. |
