Sump Lid/Cover
Any recommendations for a Sump lid? The glass aquarium lids are nice, but don't allow for cutting/drilling holes to run hoses and power cords through. I know someone out there has an easy solution, but my search results were not successful.
Thanks, ZB |

Why do you want a lid on your sump?
I have seen people put light lens cover over it (the 1/2" box stuff) to keep pets out and stuff but open to evaporation is your best bet for temp control. Just curious...

my sump is open topped. I do not see a reason to have it covered.

While I like an open sump, use acrylic which can be easily be cut and notched if needed if you feel you must cover it.

Drilling though is easy as long as you go slow and use a good bit. You can get sheets of acrylic at HD and Lowes. It can be a little pricey though. I use it to cover my top off container and to cover a small part of my sump where salt creep is a bit of a problem. Otherwise, open sump.

Thanks everyone. I think with an external skimmer there should be enough gas exchange to allow me to cover my sump.
