Euro-Reef Rc500
Guys upgrading to a 150 gallon tall and wanted to go big with my skimmer. Was looking at the diablo reef octopus 250 which comes n around $580 something but found a euro-reef on craigslist around the same price. They are discontinued...What would you do? Thanks Joe

I would not put a ER RC 500 skimmer on a 150 gallon tank WAY to big.

Which pump does the euro reef have?
I have the skimmer prior to the rc500, it was if I recall a cs500 or rs500.... Which I modded to a rc500 Excellent skimmer! Originally the skimmer had a pair of dolphin dp800 pumps then I upgraded to genx4000's if I recall. They failed on me due to lack of maintenance on my part. Presently run a bubbleblaster5000 and it doesn't work half as good as it use to. If the euro reef has eheim pump I would get it

Comes with 2 original sedra pumps and one "upgraded" pump. Waiting to hear back from him on other pump. Why too big?

Why too big, because it would require a huge bio load to work correctly, a CS 180 would be a better match for your tank.

the huge skimmer will just burn electricity and produce weak watery skimmate... if those r your goals.... by all means.
