Why do snails.....

.... like to congregate on the top of my overflow or on the inside corners where the water is cascading along the glass? are they trying to get something out of the water column? what the heck are they doing!? besides splashing the water just so that it makes all kinds of loud sounds and what not, usually at night but they dont really have a standard meeting time lol
they also like to wedge themselves between the power head and the glass sitting there vibrating against the glass making like a little jack hammer sound lol

some snails do that.. my Nerite snails would hang up top all day and feast all over the tank at night.. I used to pick them off, gave up pretty quickly. They like the "low tide" environment

If you didn't have the snails you'd find the tastiest algae seems to like the same spot.
