Radion Gen 2 Pro Wide Angle Lens

Here's some pics of a Ecotech Radion Gen 2 Pro. With Wide Angle Lens on a 60 gallon tank that's 36" long. I love these lights. My corals and fish are also loving it.

I have the same fixture and lenses. It has been working fine over the last 12 months for my SPS tank. I will add that the shadowing remains a concern. Keeping an eye on things.

What program are you running ? I have mines on high growth at 70%.

Not running one of EcoTechs programs or using EcoSmart interface, hooked up via the Apex Fusion interface.

Basically lights on at 10am ramping up from Deep Blue/0% to 10K/55% @ at Noon, ramping to 18K/75% at 2pm, ramping to 20K/65% at 8pm and ramping down to Deep Blue/0% at 10pm.

Tank doesn't look so great to the eye at 10k but I am not normally home to see it then anyway but the corals seem to like it. Long and short of it is everything gets a 3 of hours of useable light at 10-14K and 6 hours at 18-20K. The rest of the time the light is low enough that I don't think it does much for the corals, its just ramping up/down to zero.

My tank is a shallow 14 inches and 75% is about as bright as they can handle. Deeper tanks with SPS I would guess that with the wide angle lenses, 100% might be in order.

Can you please send me your schedule so I can import it into my lights. Will the settings be saved on EcoSmart Live ?

I don't use EcoSmart due to the continuous problems they have with their site. Love their products other than that. I use an Apex controller with their software/cloud so you will not be able to import it. Their are many others schedules that you can import from the Ecotech forum here though. Just search for them.

Ecosmart programs the actual lights, so they don't depend on the site at all once they are updated. I don't understand your concern?

That was at 12" I have added more stuff and I have lowered the fixture to 8". I'm getting great results. I’ll post some pics later after work. I have another Radion that I bought just in case that I would needed and it’s just sitting there collecting dust.

I would use both Radions.
What you're seeing now in an empty tank is a bit deceiving.
As your coral grow you're going to want more light spread because the coral will block the light. Even higher branches of sps will block lower branches. Trust me.
If you didn't already have a second one, I wouldn't have even said anything, figuring you'd cross that bridge when you came to it, well down the road. But since you've already got a nice pair of top shelf leds, don't let one sit unused and don't sell it at a loss.

Nice setup, btw.

Thanks. I haven't added the other unit because everything is looking fine. I bought the other fixture because I had plans on getting a bigger tank. I'll keep everybody posted on the progress of my tank.

How's is this wide angle lens working out for you so far? I am about to order the wide lens upgrade kit for my new 3ft tank.

I have the wide angle kit on my Gen 2 Pro, and it's working great. I'm 9" off the water, and my tank is 39" from point to point in the front and 27" from front to back..........I get full coverage and am only at 60% output.

I took them off as I had bought another Pro. They worked perfect when I had them on.

That's amazing coverage. Wow. I placed an order for wide angle lens kit.

You guys think two XR15pros are sufficient for a 3x2x2 SPS tank?

I don't see why not. You can even do 1 XR30 With wide angle lens. When I called Ecotech. They told me that the wide angle lens has a coverage of 36" x 36".

That tank sounds like a great candidate for two (2) XR15w Pro fixtures!

Look at my last pic from November and compare to the most recent one that I put yesterday. Look at the growth of the corals in just 4 months.
