New to RODI - opinion assistance
I have a 75 gallon with Eshopps 120 skimmer and that is all. Relying on live rock and sand for filtration. I used to go to LFS up until recently,...lugging my 5 gal jugs and driving all the way home.
Just setup RODI unit yesterday and I love it! The thing is, my laundry room, where it's connected to laundry tub sink, is clear across the house on the same floor as the tank. Tank is right when you enter the house and laundry room is all the way in the back, which is the closest water supply. My plan so far is to run the RODI unit (75 gph) into a 5 gal jug, which is in the laundry sink in case of slight overflow. mix the salt in the jug, and then carry to tank. kind of a hassle. I was thinking of keeping a large Rubbermaid container / trash can, with the float, in the laundry room, and running an 80' hose (I measured) to the tank. This would be easier but I can't find that length of hose and not sure what size pump to get. anyone with a similar situation? thanks! Steve |

Maybe something like a mag 9.5. It's not the length that's a big deal it's going vertical were it starts having a big effect.

I would use some pex tube from lowes or home depot and a mag 5 or 7. both pumps should get the water there fine.

You could figure the head loss running water through the diameter of the tubing you are using and size your pump based on that.
