Question alk to high

hey guys i just tested my kh/alkalinity and its high, im using the salifert test kit, its showing 9.9 KH value in dKH.

That is fine. 8-10 is where I try to be. Even 12 and you'll be ok? What salt are you using?

buying the saltwater from lfs. but couple of days ago i added tap water, because my salinity got to high cuz i was using salt water for topoff cuz my sality was always low so it got up all of a sudden and wasnt testing it. but now my sand is ugly brown color

Never use tap water. Alk can be high as well as all the other crap in it. I would do a big water change, you probably also have high nitrates and phosphates (which you should test for). I would also test the lfs water for atleast all to see what that is at.

i had to do a water change cuz my salinity was at 1.028. i havent tested phosphates but my nitrates are at 5.0ppm
