Has anyone ever kept a Maine Lobster (H. americanus)?

Just curious. I saw a story on the news about a lobster with a rare color morph being "rescued" from a seafood market, and kept in a 20H in someone's kitchen (cooled by SW ice cubes) until it could be sent back up to New England.

It got me to wonder, has anyone here ever actually kept a lobster?

Ever since I was a little kid and saw them in the seafood market, I kinda wanted to keep one, but I imagine it would be rather challenging just in terms of equipment requirements.

I know a few folks on here keep cold water tanks, but they're generally pretty small, I assume because the chilling expense on a larger cold water tank would be prohibitive.

I have not seen anyone keep a Maine Lobster, I've seen small lobsters with claws but I'm not sure about their specific name.

I do have 2 reef lobsters (spiny/key west lobster)
One is blue and one is red/brown with really cool spots.
Its awesome when they moult. We take out the old shell, make it look nice, then dry it out and spray it with varnish.

You just have to be careful with lobsters because they will make a mess if they're not "full." Literally flipping rocks/corals and they could prey on your weakened or unsuspecting fish.

They look amazing when they come out into the light!

I've kept them in the lab. Long term, need to keep them below 68F. They also will eat each other, so only one to a tank.
