lps turning brown?

any ideas why? i have two identical pieces and one is turning brown at the base. the other one is doing just fine.

all sps are doing fine. clam is doing fine.

too much light or not enough light?

hanna shows calcium at 480, alk at 8.

lps turning brown?

Have your tried moving it around to either more/less intense light/flow? I would to see how it reacts.

Is that Goniopora? If so, a rather difficult coral.

I'm not sure if that is skeleton or rock but, it kinda looks like Brown jelly on the bottom right. Maybe it's just the picture though.

Is the bottom where its brown a skeleton texture or is it fleshy brown?
If its fleshy, could be brown jelly disease.
If its the coral's bone, lack of nutrition.

Gonioporas need feeding, especially the bright green species. You need to start feeding them and tissue will grow back where it seems to be receeding. They will survive for a good while without feeding, but then from nowhere receed, get smaller and die.
Mix zooplankton powder with tank water and squirt with a turkey baster its polyps with the circulation pumps off 3 times per week.

I have lots of those corals in my tank, and they are tough but not impossible to keep.
