The size of a skimmer needed is determined by your total water volume then by your bioload If you have a heavily stocked tank with a lot of fish you requirement would more then a lightly stocked tank with only a few fish. What I do is find the type and brand of a quality made skimmer I want to satisfy my total water volume the upsize to the next larger model. Not an exact science, but has worked for me over the years.

AquaMaxx EM200. Get it while you can, as they sell out fast.
