Sump high or low flow

I was just wondering if anyone could help me with this question. Is a low flow sump a better option to allow your skimmer more time to pull waste or does a high flow allow the skimmer to pull the same amount of waste? Just trying to decide on a decent flow rate for my 40 breeder and keep my skimmers the most productive

Flow rate should be a little more than the rate through your skimmer. Lower flow helps the heaters too.

2-5 times a hour is all you need

So 80-200 GPH will work..... I turn my tank over 2-2.5 times a hour
