Coral placement on new rock work
The new rocks are still cycling, so I have time, and have no idea what it will end up looking like once I get it set up to replace the existing rocks. I read a lot about moving corals if they don't like where they are at, but as a starting point I wanted to show what I got, and hopefully get some ideas on flow and lighting for each. At least then I'll be in the right ballpark to start.
Current FTS I have 2 large balls of these (pipeorgan?) Hammer and some Zoa. No idea how I'll get the Zoa off the current rock.... 4 little SPS. Not doing great or signs of growth Is this a watermelon Monti? Leather coral and more polyps Ricordia Torch coral Help? |

Anyone?
Should I just individually look up the flow and lighting requirements online and make a best guess? I'm pretty sure SPS go at the top, LPS in the middle and zoa/Ric go at the bottom. And most flow near the top. Close enough? |

Whenever I purchase a new coral and i'm not sure what the lighting and flow requirements are, I just google it, i.e. "Care requirements for Frogspawn coral".

Plus, I watched a video that indicated that even similar corals can have different requirements based on which bacteria they have in them, so there's pecan pie hard and fast guarantee. I hesitate to modify my LED levels once things have adapted just for a newcomer. |
