Best seaweed clip?

Suction cups I'm not a fan of because they can fall off. Is there a decent magnetic clip that is common?

I'm not sure if you have one or not, but couldn't you just use a Mag Float for this? You probably won't be able to fold the nori up very much though.

I use the TLF magnetic clip. Had no problems with it. I bought it about a month ago.

I took a TLF magnet cleaner and epoxied a chip clip to it (100% plastic).

Mag float here too. Prevents them from ripping off big chunks.

Hmmm. I use the TLF magnetic algae clip and it is all plastic (except for the magnet, which is encased in plastic), including the tension mechanism that holds the clip closed. Not sure how it can rust?

Thumbs up for the TLF clip. My fish get all excited when I slide it up to the top of the tank to reload it. While it's not surprising that my tang and rabbitfish mack on the contents, I never thought my Melanurus wrasse would be such an algae fan!

I like how the clip can spin on the magnet.

I enjoy unloading the last bit that is pinched in the clip that the fish can't eat. Normally the rabbitfish starts heading for it and the Melanurus rockets across the tank and schlurps it up.

Or do I what I did take your standard Suction cup clip tie it with some 8 Lb test Fishing line to your Center brace. I had 2 clips in my 150 FOWLR and lets just say you have not seen carnage til you have 4 Tangs 2 Large Angels and a Foxface all going after 2 Large Pieces of Nori at the same time.

I use the TLF magnetic clip. It certainly can split and rust - so just don't leave it in the tank!

I saw a magnetic one at That Fish Place the other day. I decided on getting a floating suction cup one in the event that it breaks loose from the glass.

I have used the TLF mag clip for years. Never had a rust problem, but the spring loaded clip breaks after a year or so. I don't buy another mag clip, just purchase a TLF suction seaweed clip for $2.00 and use the new clip on the old magnet. Cheaper!

I had an extra mag mount for a Koralia Nano (240 g/h) laying around. I bought a nylon screw (8-32 thread) and two nuts from the local hardware store. The screw head required a little diameter reduction to fit, but I was able to get it to the same diameter as the little knob of the Koralia mount. Head of the screw into the mag mount, hole drilled into the veggie clip for fit the screw, and the two nylon nuts to attach the clip to the screw. Works great and no fish pulling on the seaweed sheet is going to pull that clip off the tank now.

I love this thing. I picked it up at a LFS. I had no idea how many bad reviews the TLF mag clip had. But so far so good for the past couple months using it daily for a sheet of nori. Good to know I can replace the clip if needed with a cheap one.

You could just cut the Nori up and feed it like flakes though. Saturate it first though. (so it doesn't go over the falls)

I like watching all the fish graze on it. Otherwise I'd just get flake food. I already feed pellets through out the day before some meaty blends at night.

Me too... (if your lucky) With everybody going to the same place all the time though there's bound to be a problem sometimes. Flakes disperse...

I haven't had any aggression issues in the past. I suppose if I ever do end up having any I would just add another clip on the other side of the tank.

New to the hobby, but I prefer to use a rubberband. It worked a lot better than the clip for me and my fish aren't intimidated by some clunky looking clip it just drifts from a rock as naturally as any processed dried algae sheet could

i wet the strip or sheet of algae first so it doesn't tear or crumble when i put the band around it
