A few questions regarding proper QT
So I finally have my QT up and cycled. My QT is a 39 gallon bare bottom, I'm doing hypo in my QT as I felt this approach might help me a little better being so new to the hobby! so now my main question is... how many fish should I have in QT at one time?
My other questions are: If I'm running hypo is it necessary to have it bare bottomed? I know if I use live sand it will just kill off the benefits of the live sand and or live rock, correct?! Also, using hypo, how long should the fish remain in QT?! I just hate looking at such a naked tank! Any advice on using hypo over other methods and vise versa will be greatly appreciated |

Hypo is more difficult to do correctly than some of the other approaches due to the need to maintain salinity in a very tight band. You didn't say what you were treating for but some forms of ich are hypo tolerant.

Not more than one or two. It's more about the bioload being added to the display once they're done, than the QT.
