Tunze Placement in a 180

I have a standard 180 (6x2x2). It is one of the All-Glass MegaFlow (oxymoron) tanks. I have a 6105 and am planning on adding another one soon. I would like to be able to do some SPS but ultimately will have a mixed reef. I would like to be able to mount the pumps on the back pointing toward the middle some and control them with my Apex. It seems like I would get better flow mounting them on the sides and blowing across the tank but it is more aesthetically pleasing to mount them on the back. What are any of you doing with this size tank? If it is much better to mount on the side would mounting them both on the same side be ok? One side of my tank is closer to a wall and wouldn't be as noticeable.

I have a 210 AGA just a little taller. I have my 6105's mounted on the back wall in the corners halfway down angled slightly up but mainly pointed just a little past center of the front glsss. It works well for me and my SPS corals. I control them via my Apex as well. It would be wrong of me not to mention I also use a Wave box but that is mostly for the LPS coral that sit on the bottom of the tank in the front.

My 180 has glass eurobracing around the top. I mounted my 6105's at either end to that top eurobrace. They blend in well and the cord isn't visible at all and you're able to aim them however you wish. Only downside was they would pull a vortex of air down when they ramped up and blow bubbles everywhere! I fashioned this vortex guard and problem was solved, this is glued to the wet side magnet and the cord comes through the notch. Also was able to space them far enough away from the side glass so my magnet cleaner can pass by without having to move anything.
Your tank probably doesn't have the bracing but you could easily silicone an acrylic or glass piece to provide the same function.

Thanks for the replies. That is a good idea fixing the vortex. Mark do you have pics of yours ? Also I would love to see your programming for the apex.

One side of my tank is the first thing you see when you come in the living room so I am really trying to avoid having anything on it.
