? about diatoms.
My tanks been running for years. That said, I did change from a 90 gallon to a 130 gallon and used the same live rock from the 90 to go into the 130 but also added some dry rock that I have laying around. Now I seem to have a diatom bloom that's getting a little out of hand. I use a turkey baster to blow it off the rocks but it keeps coming back with vengeance. My nitrate salifert test kit is saying zero and my hanna phosphate ppb ultralow checker is also saying zero. How can I manage this pest of a nuisance. This tank change was done in May 2014. Thanks for your input. also I use a phosphate reactor with GFO.

Will a kole tang eat diatoms? Plus I don't have any sand in my tank for a conch.

When all the silicates are used up it will go away. It's probably from the new dry rock.
