Fluval sea protein skimmer

I have a sumpless 20 gallon long set up and was wondering which good, affordable skimmers are worth buying. I read mixed reviews about the fluval sea ps1 and want to know if it is efficient and quiet. Thanks.

The biggest complaint I have read is that they are not quiet. I think they work well enough, but their pumps are pretty loud from what I have read.

I purchased the Fluval M90 and it included the Fluval PS-1 Skimmer. Not only is it loud it does NOT work well. It is hard to dial in and does not make much foam.

I just bought a Tunze 9004 and installed it yesterday. Within an hour it was producing better skimmate than the PS-1 did in a couple of months.

Still well worth the upgrade? I have the same issue with the ps1 and looking at maybe putting the skimmer in the second compartment or wedging the pump between two filters.

But this kinda means the first compartment isn't going to be used at all..
