leather coral stalk damage
I've had my toadstool for a week now, and its stalk has always had this damaged area, is it anything to be concerned about? he was happy the whole time, all polyps extended, but today after work I noticed he was all retracted. Wondering if this could be related.
Water params. Ca - 480ppm, Mg - 1380ppm, Alk - 2.85meq/l, Amm/Trite - 0, Trate - 2ppm, PO4 - 0 (or undetectable with salifert), PH - 8.1, SG - 1.027 (going to slowly bring this down), temp - 80.1f https://www.dropbox.com/s/oze8o56edz...G0066.jpg?dl=0 The three leathers on the same rock appear to be doing great, as does my Torch coral. it looks fine. nothing to worry about imo. but if you're worried dip it in coral dip like revive, coral rx, etc. people even cut them into pieces when fragging.

toadstools do that all the time. they'll close up a lot longer when they're about to shed. they like flow. it's easier for them to shed.
