Hydor Smart Level ATO

Considering pulling the plug on one of these. Anyone have any experience with these and if so what type of pump are you using with it?

Thanks

I just put one on my 10 Gal Inovative marine tank and so far it seems to be working ok. I'm running it with one of the Aqualifter pumps.

I've read a lot of reviews where people complain about the alarm going off all the time.

Google the Tunze Osmolator. Probably one of the most fail proof for not flooding your system in a lot of people's opinion. I love mine! I have the 3155 for my 56 gallon.

I have been using the Hydor Smart Level ATO for over a year now and have had no problems whatsoever. The only time the alarm has gone off is when the water level hits the third sensor, which is what it is supposed to do! Very simple unit, no floats to get stuck.

I have one on my 100g tank. It is a very simple and compact systems. It takes only few minutes to set up and ready in action. The pump is extremely quite. Mine Smart ato sound goes off once in a while also, but other than that. It is a good ato systems, IMO.

i have used it in the past with an aqua lifter and i have a new one for my new system. it works really well. the alarm goes off when the water level reaches the top sensor (like when you shut off the return pump) or when the top off pump runs more than 10 minutes (like when your top off tank is empty) and the pump is shut off at that point. its a great product (and really cheap on amazon) with dual safety shutoffs and no moving parts. i dont know why people would choose the Tunze module that costs 3x as much.

Does it actually come with a pump? I didn't think so.

I have one on my Nuvo 8 with an aqualifter. It does a good job but the alarm is annoying. Mine goes off whenever I put my hands in the tank and takes a while to go off.

you can switch it off before you start getting your hands wet then turn it back on when you are done.

That's the Autoaqua, I was referring to the Hydor. I actually think I like the Autoaqua better, but the price point point is $50 more, but it does come with a pump, whereas the Hydor doesn't.

Can i ask how u got the aqualifter to work well with the hydor ato for some reason mine wouldnt fill up in time so the ten min pump alarm went off and then the next time it only went to the min level would not hit the max level dont know why its doing this everyone seems to use the aqualifter with this ato?
