How To setup a HOB Protein Skimmer.

Okay, So I brought my skimmer the other week, and I just plugged it in and turn it on, But, I read somewhere that I have to clamp the airline or something?.. (I dont know where or what the airline is). There are no bubbles or foam appearing. if you want pictures let me know.

Cheers. Dan.

Your airline is the silicone tube with the black pill bottle size think sticking out of it up next to the collection cup. The airline runs back to the pump an allows air to mix with the water to form your bubbles. If you are not getting bubbles it is most likely clogged or not primed properly. Try removing the black "air silencer" think and pinch the silicone shut. If nothing changes, blow into the tube, if it has a lot of resistance it needs to be cleaned. Start by adding some rodi water into the tube. Worst case you tear it down and remove the hose for cleaning.
